Screenings are free to the UCLA community unless otherwise noted on the Melnitz Movie Website.

Professional Programs students may purchase a UCLA library card for a discounted rate of $20 per quarter. Prior to the beginning of the quarter, enrolled students will be placed on a list at the checkout desk at Charles Young Research Library. You must bring a photo I.D. to the checkout desk to purchase a library card.

Community Service Officers (CSO’s) are available to walk students to their cars or bus stops from dusk until 1:00 am. Pick up a campus phone and call 4-WALK to request a CSO escort. Your escort will arrive in 10-15 minutes. The Evening Van Service is a free shuttle that circles the campus approximately every 15 minutes from 6:00 pm to midnight. It runs only during the regular academic year. For more information, call the CSO programs at (310) 825-9800. Click for a map of the van service route.

The UCLA Computer Store sells a wide variety of hardware and software for both the PC and Mac platforms. As a Professional Programs student, you are eligible to purchase some products at a discounted price with a BruinCard.

The UCLA campus offers a variety of coffee houses, snack bars, and restaurants.

location maps and hours of operation.

There is a FedEx Kinko's in the Ackerman Student
Union. You can also make copies for a fee in some of the libraries.

The BruinCard is the UCLA student ID. A BruinCard is not required to participate in this program, nor do you need one to obtain any student services from the Professional Programs office. Some students use BruinCards to get the student rate at movie theaters in Westwood and at the campus computer store. Students in the year-long Professional Program in Screenwriting and in the Professional Program in Producing will have the opportunity to complete a BruinCard application at orientation. All other students must request an Application Form from the Professional Programs office.
It takes about a week for the BruinCard Center to process applications. Once your application is processed, you will have to go to the BruinCard Center at Kerckhoff Hall, room 123, to have your photo taken and to pick up your card.
